Everyone of us as Humans, in a lot of ways speak forth Words that either affect us in positive or negative ways. Also when growing up, the Words our Parents said to us, could have helped us become confident, able to figure out the best way to tackle the many different tasks or problems in our lives. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 1 Chronicles 16:34-35, 34 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 35 And say, Save us, O God of our salvation; Gather us together, and deliver us from the Gentiles, To give thanks to Your Holy name, and glory in your praise.
When we fully understand the power of our words and realize that we can choose our Words wisely, think long and hard before we speak, because our lives, and the lives of others can be transformed. If we are having a Bad day the words, we speak, can completely change our Day. One thing is for sure, speaking negatively can and will hurt you, while I believe speaking positively never will, hurt us or others. Why don’t we just begin learning to use the positive Words and see what kind of results we get? I am sure you have heard someone say, You are going to eat those words. It may sound like a mere phrase to us, but in reality we do eat our words. What we say not only affects others, but it also affects us.
Another way to look at, you are going to have to eat your words – to publicly admit that something you said was wrong, and apologize to everyone your words effected. Words are wonderful when used in a proper way. They can encourage, edify and build confidence to the hearer. A right word spoken at the right time can actually be life-changing. We can for sure see in Proverbs 15:1-4 1. A soft answer turns away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger. 2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. 3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. 4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
We can literally increase our own happiness in our lives by speaking righteous, uplifting positive words, or we can also upset ourselves by talking unnecessarily about our problems or things that have hurt us in relationships. Proverbs 15: 6 -9 6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble. 7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so. 8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. 9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness. I have found in certain situations where others have hurt us, or whatever happened when we think about it, or talk about it bothers us a lot. It is better for me if I just don’t talk about it.
What happens when Parents get in the habit of always embarrassing you in front of your friends, or just in public. I have seen how hurt Kids get when their Parents, won’t make time to listen, when they are really excited about something. A lot of Parents won’t take time to listen to their Kids, but will sadly take time to scream and holler, rudely going crazy saying, how worthless their son is or daughter is, when I think it is the Parents, that have their priorities way off. My Parents would take us to Lake Isabella almost every weekend all Summer long, and we would Water Ski or Ride the about 3 1/2 feet Circle disk. We would also stay up most of the Night Fishing for Catfish with Chicken Liver chunks 2-3 inch thick circle of the Chicken Liver hooked threw 4-5 times, then Cast it out about 40 feet. We learned quick to stay and watch your Fishing pole or hold it don’t keep reeling it in unless you have set the hook into whatever took your Bait. We would usually catch 4-8 Channel or Bullhead Catfish.
Our Dad could hardly wait for us to be old enough to hold and shoot at first a Single Shot 20 gauge Shotgun for me, and a 16 gauge shotgun for my Bother Josh, my dads name was J Garold. I was 6 and my Brother was 5 when we went and took the Hunter Safety course, a three nights of training course, the third day we took the Test, I got the highest score a 97/100 1 point ahead of the best of 1 of the three girls. I was so happy everyone did fantastic, the lowest all of us got was 89 only missing 5 1/2 questions. So for sure yes all of our Parents were very proud of us, and lovingly told us how proud they were of us. When we understand the power of words and realize that we can choose what we think and speak, into our lives can transform us.
The words that come out of our mouth go into our own ears as well as other people’s, and then they drop down into our soul where they give us either joy or sadness, peace or upset, depending on the types of words we have spoken. God desires that our spirit be light and free so it can function properly, not heavy and oppressed. We can learn to choose our thoughts, to resist wrong ones and think on good, healthy, and right ones. I have often said, Where the mind goes, the man follows. And it could also be said that where the mind goes, the mouth follows!
When we understand the power of our words and realize that we can choose what we think and speak, out into our lives can and will transform us.. Our best plan is to learn to say everything in a positive way, using positive words, about others and about ourselves. God has given His children a new nature, and we are taught to daily renew our mind and attitude. When we have a positive outlook on life and speak positive words based on God’s Word is one of the most wholesome things we can do. When you get up in the morning, if there is something you need to attend to that day that you’re not looking forward to, you can say, “I dread this day,” or you can say, God will give me strength today to do whatever I need to do and to do it with joy.
As we have seen, we eat our words, and we can rightfully say that they are food for our souls. Anyone who wants to be healthy is careful to choose quality food that will provide good nutrition. If we want to be healthy in our soul and spirit, we should also choose to take in words that will build us up and increase our peace and joy. We all have challenges in life, but we can make them better or worse by the way we talk about them. I don’t believe we can change all of our circumstances into pleasant ones by making positive confessions, but I do believe many of them will change according to God’s will. I simply want to teach you to be in agreement with God and learn to say what He says. The Words you speak into your Life, when positive will make a big difference in, the life.
Especially when we always tend to draw Attention to the Positives. I believe there are many good things happening in the world and probably there is more good than bad. But the evil is magnified in a way that often seems overwhelming. Turn on any news station or buy any newspaper or news magazine and you will find it filled with reports of murder, theft, wars, famine and all kinds of horribly tragic events. It is good to be well informed of what is going on, but to talk about world problems excessively creates a gloomy atmosphere nobody will enjoy.
